What is JAMB CAPS?
CAPS (Central Admissions Processing System) is JAMB’s official portal where candidates check their admission status. Since 2017, all admissions into Nigerian tertiary institutions must go through CAPS to be valid. The portal prevents fraud and gives you real-time updates on your admission progress.
How to Login to JAMB CAPS 2025/2026
Follow these steps to access your CAPS profile:
- Visit https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/
- On mobile? Switch to Desktop Site (Chrome recommended: tap ⋮ → “Desktop site”)
- Enter your JAMB email and password
- Click Login
Forgot Your Password?
- Visit https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/
- Click “Forgot password” → “Click here to reset password”
- Enter email and date of birth
- Check your email for reset link
- Create new password
Note: If reset fails after 3 days, visit any JAMB office with your registration details.
How to Check Admission Status on CAPS
Once logged in:
- Select “Check Admission Status” or “Access My CAPS”
- Choose examination year: 2025
- Enter your JAMB registration number
- Click “Access My CAPS”
- Select “Admission Status”

“CONGRATULATIONS… YOU HAVE BEEN OFFERED ADMISSION”
You’re admitted! Accept or reject within 4 weeks.
“ADMISSION IN PROGRESS”
Your institution recommended you; JAMB is processing. Check back soon.
“NOT ADMITTED”
Either your school hasn’t uploaded the list yet, or you haven’t met requirements. Keep checking—admissions are released in batches.
“RECOMMENDED”
Your school offered admission; JAMB is reviewing your documents.
How to Accept or Reject Admission on CAPS
You have 4 weeks to respond once offered admission. Two methods:
Method 1: Online (Desktop Site Required)
- Login to https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/
- Click “Admission Status”
- Click “Search” and wait for profile to load
- Select “Accept” or “Reject”
Method 2: SMS (Easiest for Mobile Users)
Using your JAMB-registered phone number:
- To accept: Send ACCEPT to 55019 or 66019
- To reject: Send REJECT to 55019 or 66019
Important: After accepting, print your admission letter immediately—you’ll need it for school registration.
How to Upload O’Level Results on CAPS
Your admission won’t process without uploaded results:
- Visit any JAMB office or accredited CBT centre
- Bring your O’Level result (original or copy)
- Provide your JAMB email and profile code
- Request O’Level upload
Check upload status: Login → CAPS → “Check O’Level Result”
What is Transfer Approval on CAPS?
If your JAMB score doesn’t meet your first choice course, your institution may offer an alternative course via “Transfer Approval.”
To respond:
- Login to CAPS
- Click “Transfer Approval” (left sidebar)
- Review the new course offer
- Click “Accept” or “Reject”
Accepting? Visit your school’s admission office to officially change your course before printing your admission letter.
